Your Net Meter measures the electricity you use from your utility and the electricity you pused out to the grid.  The power company calculates the power bill through subtracting the amount of power supplied from the amount of power used.  Excess credit can be used at later times during the year when solar energy is lower. The Production Meter measures the total amount of energy produced.  The Production Meter is also used to calculate your annual state rebate ($0.15 to 0.54 dollars per kilowatt hour produced).
